The Federal Executive Association of Western Massachusetts (FEAWM) and the Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA) Region I are pleased to invite you to the Western Mass Continuity Workshop.

The Workshop will be conducted on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 8:00am to 12:00pmRegistration will begin at 7:30am.  The workshop will be held at Holyoke Community College, Kittredge Center, 303 Homestead Avenue, Holyoke, MA 01040The event is free to all federal agencies and state and local partners. Participants can choose to attend a Continuity 101 Workshop or a Reconstitution Workshop.  (Please see attached workshop descriptions.)  Light breakfast refreshments will be provided.

If your agency has a Continuity of Operations (COOP) plan, please bring a copy of it to the workshop.  It will help you in referencing information during the activities.  If your agency does not yet have a COOP plan, don’t worry.  The COOP 101 workshop will get you on track to developing one.

Greenfield, MA

The Faith Communities Partnering for Emergency Preparedness, a project of the Western Region Homeland Security Advisory Council, will be offering a Basic Disaster Ministry training in Greenfield, MA. This training is open to members of any faith community, volunteer organization and first responder agency. To learn more, please see this flyer.

Greenfield Fire Station, Greenfield, MA

10am to 2pm

The Greenfield Public Safety Day will be held on Saturday, October 13th, 2012 from 10am till 2pm at the Greenfield Fire Station. The event is sponsored by the City of Greenfield. The emphasis of this day is health and safety as partners in the delivery of public safety in Greenfield. Description: The Franklin County REPC is holding a table top exercise to test its newly developed ethanol response plan. The target audience includes firefighters and other disciplines that generally respond to hazmat incidents, though anyone is welcome to observe. The event scenario will take place in Lake Pleasant (Montague).

Participants: This course is open to anyone; suggested for those that generally respond to HazMat incidents.
