Regional Shelter Training Webinar

Please join members of the Western Region Homeland Security Advisory Council and their contract support for a demonstration of the newly-minted interactive online shelter training tool.  The E-training can be used by anyone who might be required to work in a disaster shelter including public health officials and affiliated, as well as unaffiliated volunteers. It is intended to provide an understanding of community disaster plans, policies and procedures specific to shelter operations.

The E-training was also designed to provide learners with knowledge about how to carry out assigned responsibilities in a shelter. The underlying instructional design is simple: apply problem solving versus memorization based on scenarios people would likely encounter. The training builds on the regional other national guidance documents and it also contains all of the forms necessary to carry out shelter operations under the National Incident Management System.
