The Western Region Homeland Security Advisory Council will no longer accept requests seeking funding for training and exercises. As has been noted in previous communications, the State Homeland Security Grant program funding is diminishing. The funds have currently diminished to the point that there are no longer sufficient funds available to allow for an open and fair process for WRHSAC to consider unsolicited funding requests.
WRHSAC appreciates all the quality trainings and exercises that were conducted in the region utilizing the State Homeland Security funds, and thanks those who worked to bring these events to first responders throughout Western Massachusetts.
WRHSAC will continue to bring trainings and exercises to western Massachusetts, although in a limited capacity. These opportunities will be open to first responders throughout the region and will be in line with WRHSAC initiatives. All opportunities will be published on this website, pushed out via social media channels of facebook.com/wrhsac and Twitter @WRHSAC, and email notifications will be distributed.
