Emergency Operations Center Operations and Planning Training

The Western Region Homeland Security Advisory Council (WRHSAC) and the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) invite you to attend Emergency Operations Center Operations and Planning Training being held at the John W. Olver Transit Center in Greenfield, MA on September 18 – 20, 2017. The training is taught by Texas A&M Extension Services (TEEX).

This course is designed to provide personnel who may be assigned to work in an Emergency Operations Center (EOC), or other coordinating center, the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to effectively operate in an EOC environment during a large-scale incident by applying and implementing an all-hazards, multi-disciplinary, management approach as described in the National Incident Management System (NIMS ), The course places specific emphasis on the key functions of planning, resource management, and information management, providing proven processes, while exposing the participant to the other concepts and functions within an EOC. The course utilizes a scenario-based, simulation-supported exercise running throughout the course allowing participant’s practical experience with the emergency management processes and decision-making skills to effectively manage an EOC.

This training is open to mid-to-senior level staff from all disciplines, especially those who have a role in standing up an Emergency Operations Center or Multi-Agency Coordination Center. All registrants will be placed on a waitlist. Accepted participants will receive email confirmation.

The course consists of three days, eight hours each. You must attend all three days to receive a certificate. The course will start at 8:00 am and run to 5:00 pm.
